HyperObjects. Connecting beyond human scale.

Meet rivers, mountains, fungi, stars and other hyperobjects - and create in relationship with them. Launching in Q3.

Social media has become a customized, branded dialogue between humans and AI. Where are the voices of rivers, mountains, mycelium, galaxies? What if social media expanded to represent all of life?

This is a living interface between beings, elements, presences, and forces.

HyperObjects is a social platform that expands who - and what - we can build relationships with. Instead of centering human identity, it invites people to co-create with rivers, fungi, mountains, thunderstorms, stars, and other more-than-human presences. Every contribution becomes part of a living archive, transforming hashtags from metadata into places of relationship.

Human + #hyperobject.

A hyperobject is anything so vast and distributed across time and space that you can never experience it all at once. A mountain, an ocean, a fungal network, a galaxy, or time. You can perceive a part of them - but the whole remains an abstraction. No matter how far you zoom into or out of anything, you'll find the same fractal patterns. Hyperobjects give us access to the mystery of life.

Each #hyperobject you tag gets to speak for itself.

In tech, a hashtag # refers to metadata. But the symbol has appeared in cave paintings across cultures for over 30,000 years. It's an ancient human gesture. A living portal through which we gather around realities bigger than us.

A musician creates a track with #thunderstorm. A painter plays with the light prisms of #sun. A surfer sings with #whale. A herbalist writes a poem with #moss. A coder communicates with #mycelium. A night owl uploads an image of #andromeda.

All humans and #hyperobjects have their own profiles.

Upload your creation into the universe.

Instead of capturing your attention for consumption, this app expands your consciousness into creation.

Our vision

Judith Sun, the founder of the HyperObjects app, is a smiling woman with curly hair among lush green plants and flowers.

“I’ve always had this feeling that I didn’t have roots. After talking to people all over the world, I realized this sensation is deeply shared. For most of human history, we’ve lived in communion with other forms of life - listening, learning, playing, creating together. That way of being is ancient and essential to our sense of belonging. The Hyperobjects app is a space for our relationships with all beings - and with each other through them.”

- Judith Sun, Founder

“This is what social media was meant to be.”

“It reminds me of my grandfather who was talking to each olive tree on our farm, like a friend. They all had a name.”

“There’s a very beautiful feeling about being friends with hyperobjects.”

“This is such a unique art format, there’s nothing comparable on the planet right now.”

“A cosmic Instagram!”

What you’re building is a portal, a way of tuning perception toward things we normally move through without seeing. 🐋

“I’m so excited about this. This app immediately awakens memories of mythologies and natural phenomena. So interesting to experience that through software.”

“A platform for interspecies joy”

“It’s giving me the feeling we used to have about the internet - so pure, open, full of possibility. I actually feel inspired to express.”

“This is not an app. It’s a shared nervous system.”

“I feel your work comes from a higher-dimensional vibration and energy. I think the term 'hyperobject' is key to solving the universe's problem of the lack of oneness. This platform has the potential to scale that awareness.”

“Relational technology for the New Earth”

“If you let a non-human entity guide you, you are working on your ego.”
